Getting there Te huarahi ki reira

The Viaduct Events Centre is a 15-minute walk to the city centre and 13 minutes from Britomart Transport Centre. Paid parking can be found at Jellicoe Street Car Park.

Walking around the Viaduct Basin is a must while in the area. Starting at Viaduct Events Centre – you'll spot many cafés, restaurants and yachts along the way.

Key Experience Highlights

Meet with Tane Tarlton

The grandson of marine legend Kelly Tarlton will be at the Expo with his 6-metre lifeboat in which he plans to circumnavigate New Zealand to raise awareness about critical issues facing New Zealand’s marine ecosystems.

Become an ocean explorer

This fun interactive activity will consist of a range of tasks that are fun, engaging, and educational. Complete the activity and go in the draw to win a big prize, a family pass for Auckland whale & dolphin safari.

Visit the digital Aquarium

Use augmented reality colouring app Quivervision to colour your own fish, then scan it to add to the Moana Auckland Sustainability Expo Digital Aquarium.

Explore the Woven Harakeke Mussel Ropes Installation

Visit the large-scale woven harakeke mussel ropes installation by master weaver Hinewaimarama Tanya Reihana-White and a rōpū of weavers from Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei. Take part in Interactive Raranga (weaving) workshops open to all ages from 2pm – 4pm on Saturday.
