Karaage chicken

Banzai!  I am a Japanophile, and a foodie.  My partner is Samoan Kiwi and loves KFC.  East meets West at Renkon for $13.50. Lightly battered chicken thigh, udon, miso dare sauce, slaw, Japanese mayo and a wedge of lemon.  It is our thing to eat it, then walk along Takapuna beach.  I get anxiety and was afraid to come out after lockdown. It was one of the first things I did, and one of the few meals out we can afford post Covid.  I have tried to make it but they just do it better.  Staff and kai are genuinely Japanese, and the soy and ginger misodare sauce is a secret I have tried and failed to get out of them.  $13.50 to feed a salsa dancing, born again Christian, ex NZ team grid iron playing Samoan panel beater is a steal.  Sorry Colonel Sanders, you have been outdone.  Chahoooo!
