Queens Rooftop & Wineshop

At the top of Queen Street near the waterfront, you'll find Queens Wineshop. The unassuming store sits on the ground level of the aptly named One Queen Street, also home to luxury hotel, InterContinental Auckland.

But, before you peruse their carefully curated wine selection, keep an eye out for a storeroom hidden behind the towering shelves — an elevator waits, ready to ascend 21 stories to Queens Rooftop.

As the elevator doors open, a contemporary interior stretches out towards uninterrupted sea views — east to the Coromandel, west to the Waitakere Ranges, and up to the north. Dine al fresco on the terrace, or opt for the cosy ambience of the interior space.

Either way, with a menu as good as this, you're in for a treat. Think classics with a twist, like line-caught snapper schnitzel and duck breast confit leg with kumara hoisin. The seafood savvy will love the raw bar with fresh local catches.

If you're after something smaller, try the calamari and the smoked pork belly skewers. Nibble away whilst sipping on a cocktail made with seasonal New Zealand produce, or choose from a broad selection of wines and beers.

From mid-morning meetups to sunset sipping, any time is a good time. Queens Rooftop is open seven days a week from 11am - late, serving an all-day menu.
