Queens Rooftop & Wineshop

At the top of Queen Street near the water's edge, you'll find Queens Wineshop. The unassuming store occupies a spot on the bottom level of the aptly named One Queen Street, also home to luxury hotel, InterContinental Auckland.

But, before you peruse its carefully curated selection of international and local wines, keep an eye out for a storeroom hidden past the towering shelves — an elevator waits, ready to ascend 21 stories to Queens Rooftop.

Inside, a contemporary interior is framed by uninterrupted views east to the Coromandel, west to the Waitakere Ranges, and to the north. Dine al fresco on the terrace, or opt for the cosy ambience of the interior space.

Either way, you're in for a treat! Queens Rooftop's menu parallels the view in its brilliance. Think classics with a twist, like line-caught snapper schnitzel and duck breast confit leg with kumara hoisin. The seafood savvy will love the raw bar with fresh local catches.

If you're after something smaller, try the calamari and the smoked pork belly skewers. Nibble away whilst sipping on a cocktail made with seasonal New Zealand produce, or choose from a broad selection of wines and beers.
