Located in the neighbourhood of St Heliers, Ladies Bay Beach is a small and sheltered beach surrounded by lush green trees. It is one of Auckland's most famous nudist beaches. Don’t be fooled by the name, this beach is not only for ladies but everyone who likes to take their clothes off at the beach.
To get here, you must descend quite a few sets of steps but once you’ve reached the beach, you will be rewarded with stunning views and inviting blue waters to enjoy in your birthday suit… if you’re feeling confident enough. Even though Ladies Bay Beach is an approved nudist beach, there is no sign posted, which sometimes takes visitors by surprise.
The beach is the perfect place to relax and soak up the sun.
Ladies Bay Beach is also a great spot for walks and offers stunning views of the harbour. Take a stroll along the promenade and enjoy the fresh sea breeze. If you're lucky, you might even spot some dolphins or whales in the distance.
Make sure you check out Achilles Point, a scenic lookout with amazing views of the Hauraki Gulf, Brown's Island, Rangitoto Island, and a distant view of Auckland City.
Ladies Bay Beach is a hidden gem that should not be missed if you are seeking a little freedom from those dreaded clothes you have to wear or you simply just don’t want any tan lines.
