Aotea Centre
Learn the history behind the ancient Indian practice, be guided through yoga flows, meditation and breath work. Renowned yoga instructor, Reha Kumar, will be offering free practical and theory-based yoga workshops throughout the weekend. No yoga experience is necessary.
There are five 45-minute yoga workshops across both Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 October. There is no booking required, please just show up 10 minutes prior to the scheduled class. The full timetable is below.
Yoga workshops will take place inside the Waihorotiu Room on Level 4 in Aotea Centre.
You are welcome to bring your own yoga mat. There are also a limited number of mats available to borrow.

Getting there Te huarahi ki reira
The Aotea Centre is a short walk up Queen Street from Britomart station, and the Civic car park is conveniently located beside the venue if you’re driving.

Check out the sculpture of celebrated Kiwi opera singer Dame Kiri Te Kanawa which sits on Level 3 of the Aotea Centre. It was created by local artist Terry Stringer and unveiled by Dame Kiri Te Kanawa herself when the auditorium was named in her honour in 2019.
