Get ready to light up Vector Lights on the Auckland's iconic Auckland Harbour Bridge in celebration of BNZ Auckland Diwali Festival 2024! We invite you to an exciting competition where you can share your unique perspective on what Diwali means to you, or how you celebrate this vibrant festival. Your creative vision could become part of a spectacular light and sound show!
Two Creative formats to choose from
Drawing Entry
Using our template, create a drawing that represents Diwali. Think about the various aspects of Diwali, such as rangoli designs, lighting diyas, family gatherings, fireworks, and festive decorations.
Storyboard Entry
Using our template, create a storyboard exploring the theme "What does Diwali mean to you?" Consider how Diwali is celebrated in your family, its significance to you, and your personal experiences or interpretations of the festival (maximum of 3 pages).
Prizes
Winners will receive exclusive invitations to the launch of Vector Lights, where they will witness their creations illuminate the bridge and captivate the audience. More prizes to be announced soon!
How to enter
To enter, download your template of choice and submit your completed entrance using our form. Please note that late submissions will not be accepted. This competition is a call for a storyboard and a written concept, so let your creativity shine and share your Diwali story with us!
Competition details:
A maximum of eight winners will be selected. Their winning entries will be transformed into an artistic brief which will bring their stories and visuals to life in a new, dynamic light show. The grand unveiling of this spectacular show will take place on the Auckland Harbour Bridge on Monday 14 October and the light show will run until Sunday 20 October.

Vector Lights is a transformative initiative powered by a combination of smart energy technologies, including solar panels, batteries, and peer-to-peer systems. Located in the Waitematā area, Vector Lights serves as a beacon toward a smart energy future. It represents a collaborative effort between Vector, Auckland Council, and NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi.
This iconic light-show experience enhances Auckland’s beautiful harbor, providing both locals and visitors with a focal point for celebration and recognition. To enjoy these displays, you can head to prime viewing spots such as Little Shoal Bay, Westhaven Marina, and Silo Park.
