Auckland War Memorial Museum was one of New Zealand’s first museums. Housed in an iconic heritage building in Auckland Domain, in the suburb of Parnell, the Museum tells the story of New Zealand, its people, and its place in the Pacific. The museum is widely regarded as one of the best in the Southern Hemisphere.

It is a must-see attraction with world-class Māori and Pacific collections, significant natural history resources, and major social and military history collections. Auckland Museum also serves as a war memorial for the province of Auckland and houses one of New Zealand's top three heritage libraries.
