Snickel Lane

In the heart of Auckland’s city, Snickel Lane is a charming laneway reminiscent of the vibrant backstreets of Melbourne or New York.

Among its quirky eateries and boutique shops, you’ll find a lesser-known haunt for wine enthusiasts, Isle on Snickel, a cosy wine bar and cellar offering tastings from Waiheke Island’s finest vineyards. If wine isn’t your drop, you can also enjoy artisan G&Ts, cocktails and craft beers.

Eden Garden

Tucked into the lower slope of Maungawhau Mount Eden, Eden Garden is a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Sitting on 5.5 acres of land, Eden Garden was founded in an old quarry by a team of volunteers almost 50 years ago.

This beautiful garden is home to vibrant blooms, winding paths, lush greenery and a thriving ecosystem of geckos, wētā, insects, birds and butterflies. Take some time out to stroll through the garden or visit the on-site cafe and try their high tea.

Devonport’s Mt Cambria Reserve

Nestled within the charming seaside suburb of Devonport, Mt Cambria Reserve is a hidden historical reserve. Once the site of a volcanic cone, and then a scoria quarry, it has been transformed into a truly picturesque community park.

Discover its history on informative panels as you wander through the reserve, native bush and manicured gardens featuring colourful flowers and shrubs. Higher points of the reserve offer beautiful views across Devonport and out to the coast.
