The PumpHouse Theatre in Takapuna is a beloved cultural institution nestled in the heart of Killarney Park on the shores of Lake Pupuke. This beautiful heritage building is home to an array of theatrical performances, creative talks, comedy acts, and more. Whether you're a theatre buff or just looking for a fun night out, you're bound to find something to delight and entertain you at the PumpHouse Theatre.
The theatre also has a rich history and a resident ghostly presence in the form of Cicely Margaret (Peg) Escott. Her love of the dramatic arts and indefatigable tenacity led her to be involved with the saving and rebirth of the PumpHouse building as a theatre, and she was a founding member of the trust board. Her legacy lives on in the Peg Escott Green Room, which was built in her honour and where some people claim to have felt her presence.
