Also known as Dove-Myer Robinson Park, Parnell Rose Garden is a must-visit for any lover of flowers. With over 5,000 roses in bloom (throughout summer and autumn), the gardens are a riot of colour and fragrance. Whether you're a casual observer or a serious rose enthusiast, you're sure to be impressed by the beauty and variety of roses on display.
The gardens are divided into several themed areas, each with its own unique charm. The White Garden is a popular spot for weddings, while the Nancy Steen Garden is home to a collection of heritage roses. There's also a rose maze, a fountain, and a cafe called Luxerose Cafe.
Every November, the Parnell Rose Gardens come alive with the Parnell Rose Festival. This free event is a great chance to enjoy the beauty of the gardens, browse arts and craft stalls, and enjoy live music and entertainment.
After your visit, make sure to take a short walk down to Judges Bay and the famous Parnell Baths. Judges Bay is a small, sheltered bay with a sandy beach, and the Parnell Baths are a series of saltwater pools that were built in the early 1900s. Both are worth checking out.
