Take a beautiful drive through bush before arriving at Muriwai Golf Club, a genuine links course lying adjacent to its namesake beach on the west coast. From each hole you’ll get incredible views of the Tasman Sea, with dunes and pines studding the landscape for a challenging day out.
Being exposed to the windswept coastline, you might have to contend with nature – and that’s half the fun. Don’t fret if there’s wind or rain – there are holes facing multiple directions and the sand-based course is free-draining. If blessed with a sunny day, Muriwai Golf Club might just feel like golfing heaven. Be sure to call by the clubhouse perched at the highest point of the land, which overlooks the 18th hole.
