Little Creatures is a brewery in Hobsonville Point, a peaceful peninsula that is just out into the Waitematā Harbour, a 20-minute drive from Auckland's city centre.
Little Creatures was originally brewed in Australia in 2000 by a bunch of friends who loved hoppy pale ales and decided to brew one themselves. Fast-forward and here they are now on the water’s edge in Hobsonville since 2019.
Little Creatures gets its name from the live yeast cultures present in the beer, affectionately known by brewers as "Little Creatures," which are what give the pale ale its distinctive cloudy appearance and unique flavour.
The brewery itself is quite large, with plenty of space for sampling the many different beers on offer. There is also a restaurant area where you can savour your brews, indulge in delicious kai, and even enjoy live music performances.
Little Creatures really is a haven for beer lovers, offering a diverse and ever-evolving selection of brews. From the crisp and refreshing Catalina Lager to the rich and malty Rogers' Amber Ale, to their signature Pale Ale, there's something to please every palate. But that's not all - the brewery also caters to non-beer drinkers with a range of options, including wine, cider, ginger beers, kombucha, juices, and coffee.
If you're unsure of what to try, don't hesitate to seek guidance from the knowledgeable and friendly staff, who are always happy to recommend the perfect pint to suit your tastes.
