Relax in Eden Garden, a quiet idyll nestled in New Zealand's biggest city. One of urban Auckland's greatest secrets is an award-winning garden. Sitting on 5.5 acres of land, Eden Garden was founded in an old quarry by a team of volunteers almost 50 years ago and continues to attract crowds of visitors to this day. Eden Garden boasts a wide-ranging collection of native and non-native plants. The Vireya Rhododendrons, which bloom beautifully all year long, are a highlight of the collection. Flitting among the trees and bushes is a population of native New Zealand birds - keep an eye out for tui, wood pigeons, fantails and kingfishers.
