If you're looking for a fun and informative way to learn about sustainable farming, why not take a 1.5-hour walk on the yellow route at Duder Regional Park?
Start from the main car park and look for the yellow markers. The trail will take you through a variety of ecosystems, including wetlands, parkland, and coastal bush. Just be sure to wear some old shoes, as the grass and bush tracks can get a little muddy when it's wet and rainy outside.
As you make your way through the coastal forest, keep an eye out for the taraire, tawa, kānuka, pūriri, karaka, and even the occasional kauri tree. And if you're lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of the yellow kōwhai flowers in bloom!
Duder is a working farm, so be sure to leave gates as you find them. Unfortunately, dogs aren't allowed in the park.
Getting there Te huarahi ki reira
