The Corban Estate Arts Centre, a historic winery estate tucked in Henderson, is truly a hidden gem in West Auckland. The lush park-like grounds are infused with creativity at all angles, from the historic winery building to the rotating exhibitions within the heritage homestead.
Keep tabs on Corban’s annual line-up of community programmes, art classes, intimate art exhibitions and colourful festivals, with past events including Printopia Festival, the super-popular Kids Arts Festival, and showcases for Auckland Pride Festival. Over at Te Pou Theatre, a new venue dedicated to Māori theatre, you can watch incredible Māori talents (from poets to storytellers) take their craft to the stage.
The historic grounds and a touch of imagination go far for festivals like Winter Best, a free music festival with stages scattered around the grounds. Like the artworks crafted by its resident artists, there is no limit to what this uplifting venue can create.
Getting there Te huarahi ki reira
