Kahurangiariki’s practice blends the materiality of digital media with indigenous futurism grounded in mātauranga Māori. Commissioned for Pride, her vibrant design wraps the iconic Freyberg Steps. Adjacent to this, lightboxes display Bobby’s striking photographic works. A ceramic artist with a background in industrial design, his imagery delves into identity, exploring the experiences of being queer and Asian in a heteronormative society. Join both artists for an engaging kōrero about their newly revealed public artworks. They’ll share insights into their concepts, processes, and creative practices, exploring how their works connect under the kaupapa of Pride. An informal Q&A will offer a unique opportunity to engage with these artists, don’t miss this chance to experience thought-provoking art in the heart of the city!
