Lunar New Year Celebration

Come celebrate the 2024 Lunar New Year in the city at the Ellen Melville Centre and Auckland Central City Library with packed full of performances, activities with family and friends.

Start at Ellen Melville Centre and Freyberg Square from 11 am with live music and cultural performances. There will be craft activities, family games and delicious food stalls to dabble your taste buds. 

Then, end the celebration at Tāmaki Pātaka Kōrero - Auckland Central City Library with fun Lunar New Year-themed storytime, Lucky Dragon photo booth and catch roaming pandas to grab memorable Lunar New Year souvenirs. All are brought to you by the China Cultural Centre in Auckland.
