Take a small break from the colourful and energetic celebration and visit the Central City Library.
The library has a dedicated parent’s room, ice cold water running from the water fountain and lockable charging stations for your phones so you can continue taking photos and videos of the Diwali Festival.
Be inspired by the specially curated book display and expand your knowledge with short documentaries on the big screen.
Their librarians will also be delivering a special Diwali Storytime and a Nokshi Katha Workshop.

Central City Library is home to the Sir George Grey Special Collections. These heritage items and resources include significant New Zealand publications, Shakespeare’s first folio, a William Blake manuscript engraved by the poet himself, as well as maps, music, whakaahua, ephemera and valuable rare books.
