Karen Walker's guide to coastal Auckland

For me, Auckland’s twin coasts and multitude of islands means you can’t experience Auckland without experiencing its water. For most of my life, I’ve lived within walking distance of an Auckland beach and my summer memories are awash with its intense blues and the tingle of salt on the skin.

There are many ways to experience this part of Auckland – from dinner with a view to full immersion in some serious waves. Here are a few of my favourites.
